Free overnight trips

In Scotland there is the 'Right to Roam'

So we also have the right to wild camp for free in some of the most incredible scenery in the world. It's great for a cheap night away or even a holiday

Obviously you need some basic equipment... tent, sleeping bag etc. but then the 'county is your oyster'

A few guidelines to follow

Move on if the place is already busy, and don't stay more than a night or two

Leave no evidence of your stay including fire places. Never cut down or damage trees

Take away your rubbish.

If in doubt, ask the landowner. They just might help you find a better camping spot.

There a re a few spots where wild camping is banned including the accessible parts of Loch Lomond Shores and the Isle of Iona but most of the country is open to you
