Protect against contactless card fraud!

Contactless card fraud/scam

Whilst the introduction of contactless cards have made it easier to purchase low value goods it has also, inevitably, brought a new way for thieves to steal money and card details from you. With the aid of a readily available card scanner and custom software they just need to move close to your wallet or purse and can scan your card whilst it's still on your person.

They can either then process a small purchase as if you used your card for a contactless payment or extract your card details to be used for larger purchases (although in this latter case they cannot obtain the CVV number).

All is not lost

Fortunately. it is very simple to protect your card against this sort of high tech scam! All you have to do is to line your wallet or purse where you keep the card with tin foil. The foil prevents the scanner from being able to read your card's details!

If this sounds a bit ungainly/unsightly then there are suitably protective wallets and purses available to purchase, from say Amazon.

So let's be safe out there and save our money to spend on what we want!
