Flight Skipping: Fly For Less

What Is Flight Skipping?

‘Flight Skipping’ is a new term given to buying an indirect airplane flight but skipping one of the final leg(s) of the flight in order to reach your real destination (which is the layover city) for cheaper. For example, if you want to fly from NYC to Washington DC but it costs £500, however you can buy a flight to Orlando via Washington for £400, instead of changing planes in Washington (the layover city), you do not board your Orlando flight, but instead walk off the plane in Washington with your hand luggage. This way you reached your real destination, Washington in this case, for cheaper!

Why Should You Flight Skip?

The main incentive for flight skipping is to save money. However, the only catch is that you generally cannot check in hold luggage, as in our example, you do not want your bags going to Orlando while you get off the plane in Washington. Instead, you need to be able to survive in your destination with only hand luggage. Flight skipping can be used in any situation with an indirect flight but more opportunities may exist in major transport hubs such as NYC, Singapore, Amsterdam, LA, San Francisco or Dubai which are often used as layover cities.

Where Can You Find Flight Skipping Deals?

An entrepreneur created a website and app called ‘skiplagged’ with the sole purpose to find these hidden airfare deals on the web.
