A few tips on renting your own place

Make sure that the place you are renting is safe, the gas is certified and the boiler isn’t on the blink. The place should also be in good conditions so not rats or no leakages, the property should be looked at before you have signed the agreement.

If you are sharing the place maybe with a friend or a stranger, make sure to agree on each other’s rights and check that you both understand the agreement and both of you are paying a fair amount.

When you are ready to leave the property make sure that you aren’t leaving on short notice and have advised in advance because the bills might not have been ended and you could still be paying the rent.

Remember that if you are the renter, you still have jobs to do, such as pay the rent and trying to not disturb the neighbourhood, you’re the people that are letting you stay in the apartment might not be as patient as you thought so don’t forget your priorities, paying the rent is one of them.

Your deposit should be protected thirty days after they have received it and it should contain all the details on the scheme of protecting it and how you get it back.
