Work Where You Shop

Work Where You Shop:

Many students need to find a part-time job to pay bills and expenses when they are a student. One way to save yourself more money is to 'work where you shop'. Many stores and retailers offer employee discounts to their staff which can range anywhere from a 10% to 50% discount on items. Some examples of working where you shop include:

1) Apple store: Apple offers staff 30% discounts off products which for high value items like iPhones, iPads, Mac computers and Beats headphones is quite a substantial £ amount off

2) Mobile and Electronics stores: If you love mobile phones, then consider a job at a mobile phone retailer where you can get 30%-40% off mobile phone contracts. Alternatively you can work at a larger electronics retailer in order to get discounts off a wider range of items including computers, tablets and TV's.

2) Clothing stores: If you love to wear the latest fashions, finding a job at one of your favourite brands is a great way to earn money and save money with your employee discount on the latest fashions.

3) Department stores: Not everything is eligible for a staff discount at a department store but clothing is (because high end deparment stores like Harrods and Selfridges want their employees to look sharp). Typical discounts are usually 30%-40% and if you shop during one of the annual seasonal sales, you get 30%-40% off the already lower sale price

4) Wine and Liquor Store: If you like to drink alcohol, working at a specialist wine or liquor shop, will allow you to attend industry tastings for free; receive regular complementary product tastings and education by sales representatives from various alcohol brands who are promoting their products; and receive staff discounts when you buy bottles of wine or spirits
