iMessage isn't working after I transferred my number to giffgaff
iPhones, iMessage and FaceTime can get stuck on the temporary number when you first join giffgaff. If you've already waited past 9pm on your transfer day, try these:
Set date and time to auto
Make sure the time and date settings in your iPhone are set to automatic. Look under Settings, General, Date and Time.
- Turn off iMessage. Go to Settings. Scroll down and tap on Messages. Switch off iMessage
- Turn off your phone and wait 5-10 minutes. Then turn it on again
- Check if the phone number details on your iPhone show the right number. Go to Settings → Phone and make sure My Number shows the right number. Change it if it doesn't
- Turn on iMessage again. Go to Settings. Scroll down and tap on Messages. Switch on iMessage
