It's Payback time
We believe in mutual giving (after all, that's what giffgaff means). Which is why we pay you for lending a helping hand. And we call those rewards Payback.
Bring your friends and family on board, give helpful advice on our forums, or suggest ideas to make us better. It'll all earn you Payback points.
How does Payback work?
1. Earn points
Each time you do something to earn Payback points (like bringing mates to giffgaff or helping out on the community) we'll add the points to your account.
2. Rack 'em up
We'll send you an update at the end of each month telling you how many Payback points you've earned.
3. Cash 'em in
Twice a year you can convert your points to cash, top-up credit or a donation to charity. We pay these out twice a year, in June and December. Don't worry, we'll email you ahead of time to remind you.
Just so you know, 1 Payback point = £0.01. So 500 points = £5, and so on.
You can choose one of 3 ways to get your Payback. Reap rewards as cash, top-up credit or donate it to charity.
CashWe'll pay you via PayPal (so you'll need an active PayPal account). This option's only available if you've earned 1,000 Payback points or more.
Top-up creditWe'll automatically add top-up credit to your giffgaff account at the end of each Payback period.
Charity donationYour Payback will be donated to charity, and we'll match it pound for pound. High five.
You can select your Payback option up until early June 2017. Earning Payback points is continuous, but only the ones collected before 11:59pm 31st May 2017 will be paid in the June 2017 Payback.
Setting up relationships with all the UK's banks is too expensive and too time consuming for a low cost business like giffgaff.
Offering this would create too much complexity for our small team to implement. We recommend selecting the cashback option then use your extra pounds as you see fit.
If you haven't made a choice by the cut-off point in early June 2017, your Payback points will be rolled over to the next Payback period. They cannot, however, be rolled over to a second Payback period.
We will send you a statement in early June 2017. You will also be able to see your points on the site on or around the same date.
If you have questions about your individual statement, ask one of our agents. All general Payback queries can be answered in our forum.
If you don't select your Payback option, points will roll over to the next Payback period. They cannot, however, be rolled over to a second Payback period.
